Self-Flying Camera or Manual Drone? Choose by the Footage
Following a cyclist on a trail is different from filming a coast at sunset. Make the shot list before you choose a flying camera.
List your three real shots
Walking follow footage, face-to-camera clips, landscapes and long moves each place different demands on framing and control.
Check environment limitations
Small automatic systems can be limited by low light, wind, complex obstacles and narrow paths. Look for full-length test clips shot in conditions similar to yours.
Price the storage workflow
Footage transfer, internal storage, battery kits and replacement accessories affect the total budget. A cheap starter package may be incomplete.
Be realistic about safety
Automatic tracking is not a substitute for collision prevention, airspace awareness or safe operation. Follow the manufacturer guidance and local rules.
How to use this guide
Save the questions that apply to your decision and check them against current primary documentation before spending money or booking travel. A clear written answer beats an attractive headline.
